Talk Like a Pirate on Wednesday and Saturday with live show, movie and crafts

All ages are invited to join the crew at Morris County Library's Children's Room for seafaring fun ... If ye dare. The adventures include crafts, a movie, treasure hunt and live show on pirates.

On Wednesday, the library hosts Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Learn Pirate 101 from 2-3 p.m: Young swashbucklers can choose their craft, including flag and map making, creating patches and haberdashery and shipbuilding and decoration.

Following the crafts on Wednesday, a free showing of the movie Treasure Planet, rated PG, starts at 3 p.m. The film is a science-fiction take on Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island.

On Swashbuckling Saturday, the library hosts young buccaneers, ages 5 and up, for a pirate treasure hunt in the library's Children's Room from 9-11 a.m.

Pirate 101 takes place again from 2-3 p.m. At 3 p.m., a live show with actors from Period Productions will portray the life and times of a pirate.

Morris County Library is located at 30 E. Hanover Ave., Whippany, NJ. Phone is 973-285-6930.
