CCM: All County Residents Invited to Free "Hometown Security Seminar'' on July 31

Businesses, Schools, Organizations, Residents Invited to N.J. Department of Homeland Security Program
The public is invited to attend a free Morris County Hometown Security Seminar on Wednesday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Dragonetti Auditorium at County College of Morris, 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph.

The New Jersey Department of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP) Hometown Security program will discuss tools and resources that can help strengthen the security and resilience of communities across New Jersey. Program topics will include physical protective measures, active shooter response, recognizing and reporting suspicious activity.
Local municipalities, organizations, businesses and residents are invited to attend.
- Patrick Owens, Director of Critical Infrastructure for the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, will discuss facility assessment and protective measures.
- Janice Rufino, from the Intelligence Management Bureau of NJOHSP, will provide information on recognizing and reporting suspicious activity.
- Active Shooter Preparedness will be discussed by Ed Moore, Active Shooter Response Training Coordinator for NJOHSP.
A panel discussion on Preparedness Tools and Resources for the Community will feature Sean Gorman, Infrastructure Security Bureau, NJOHSP; Lt. Gary Brandt, Infrastructure Protection Unit, New Jersey State Police; Dan Shultz, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, United States Department of Homeland Security; and Jeffrey S. Paul, director, Morris County Office of Emergency Management.
The Hometown Security program was developed by NJOHSP in collaboration with the Morris County Sheriff's Office, Morris County Prosecutor's Office, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, the Morris County Office of Emergency Management, the County College of Morris Public Safety, and the Randolph Township Police Department.
