CCM: Tech Talk Focuses on Thomas Edison -- March 3

Featuring Demonstration of Edison's Wax Cylinder Phonograph

County College of Morris will feature its latest Tech Talk event on Tuesday, March 3, with an invention by Thomas Edison to be focus of the session, namely Edison's wax cylinder phonograph.

Jerry Fabris, museum curator at the Thomas Edison National Historic Park, will discuss and demonstrate Edison's musical breakthrough invention in a program hosted by CCM's Department of Music, Performing Arts and Music Technologies.

Fabris will give a live demonstration of Edison's original wax cylinder phonograph. He also will conduct a live recording and playback session demonstrating Edison's invention, and detailing how this invention led to the birth of the record industry.

The presentation will take place at CCM's Music Technology Center's Performance Lab, Room 105, on Tuesday, March 3, 12:30 - 1:45p.m. The public is welcome to attend this free and informative demonstration. CCM is located at 214 Center Grove Road in Randolph.
