Older Vets May Need Help of Family-Friends for Online Services

Morris County and the Veterans Administration are continuing to serve our county veterans' community during this coronavirus crisis, but the system of service has changed due to public health needs.(JPG, 54KB)

Most services are now being provided online or by telephone to ensure social distancing required to help limit the spread of COVID-19.

We want to assure our veterans that we will do everything possible to ensure they get the services and assistance they need during this difficult period,'' said Morris County Freeholder Director Deborah Smith.

We ask that family and friends help those veterans who might not have online skills or capability, so they can get the help they need,'' said Freeholder Smith.

Important Facts:

The VA's Medical Clinic in Morris County, located in the rear of the Morris View Healthcare Center in Morris Township, will be closed effective Monday, March 23. The VA will conduct video-to-home and telephone visits.

Any emergencies requiring in-person visits will be handled at other VA medical clinic sites as follows: https://www.newjersey.va.gov/locations/other_facilities.asp

The VA asks that you telephone your VA medical center before going to a clinic, urgent care, or emergency room, especially if you have symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath.

The Morris County Veterans Services Office has been closed. However, services to veterans are continuing over the telephone. Veterans needing assistance should call 973-285-6866.
