Carol Morgan 43-Year County Employee, Lauded by Freeholders for Outstanding Career

Carol Morgan has been honored by the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders with a special county resolution of gratitude on the occasion of her pending Oct. 1 retirement after more than 43 years of outstanding service for Morris County.

Carol, who lives in Washington Township, was joined by County Planning Director Christine Marion and her colleagues from the county Office of Planning and Preservation at the Sept. 11 Freeholder Board work session in Morristown, where she received her award from the county governing board.

"We are so grateful to have had someone as talented as Carol working on behalf of county residents for so many years,'' said Freeholder Director Doug Cabana. "We thank you and wish you the very best in the next chapter of your life.''

Resolution Honoring Carol Morgan

Whereas, Carol Morgan is being honored by the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders today, Sept. 11, 2019 on the occasion of her Oct. 1, 2019, retirement after more than 43 years of outstanding service for Morris County; and

Whereas, starting on April 14, 1976, the year of our Nation's Bicentennial, Carol started employment as a Graphic Artist under the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) program with the Morris County Planning Board, with her hiring approved by then Freeholder Director Leanna Brown and Freeholder Rodney Frelinghuysen; and

Whereas, she received training and took courses on her own to become a Draftsman in 1979 when a full-time position equated to 32.5 hours a week; and

Whereas, over the years, Carol continued to advance honing her skills in drafting maps with pen, pencil, vellum, and Mylar to ultimately become a Principal Drafting Technician; and

Whereas, Carol's skill at drafting and graphics have helped create attractive maps, plans and reports, including the award-winning Natural Resource Management Guide; and

Whereas, although Carol's work changed with the advances in technology, she has been able to adapt and has always been willing to assist and help with almost any task; and

Whereas, Carol has shared her love of poetry and adventures in travel with staff, and her friendliness and professionalism has been recognized by all those who have worked with Carol;

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, the Board of Chosen Freeholders, Morris County, New Jersey, congratulates Carol Morgan for her dedication during the more than 43 years of her career with Morris County and extends best wishes for many happy years of retirement.
