NJ Hope and Healing Crisis Counseling Program is Free, Confidential

NJ Hope and Healing logoThe NJ Hope and Healing Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) at the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris serves anyone who has been emotionally impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. There is no fee for participation in our program, which is made possible through a grant from FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration). All groups are conducted virtually on Zoom.

Unwind with Us: Gather with us to sharestories, crochet and knit. No experience necessary -- grab some yarn or another textile and join us for an hour of self-care as we work, chat, and support each other during this uncertain time. This open, drop-in group meets every Tuesday from 5-6 p.m.

COVID-19 Support Group: For many, this has been a time of great uncertainty and anxiety. The Crisis Counseling Program team is offering a support group for anyone emotionally impacted by COVID-19. This is a weekly, open, drop-in group that meets every Wednesday from 2-3 p.m.

After School Chat & Craft: These groups were created in direct response to the changes, uncertainty, and stress brought on by the pandemic. The After School Chat & Crafts are a safe space for children ages 7-12, and teens ages 13-18 to chat, create, and de-stress. Registration is required for these groups. Consumer Thursday: A safe space where those who receive mental health services can come together, connect, and discuss any concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic. This open, drop-in group meets every Thursday from 5 -6 p.m.

Fun Zone Friday: A virtual activity group for individuals ages 18 and up. This group, which meets twice a month on Fridays from 4-5 p.m., is a fun and interactive way to connect with others using art and games.
