DWI Checkpoint in Washington Township in September

Morris County authorities will be on the lookout for intoxicated drivers for the month of September in Washington Township.

DWI Checkpoint(, 0B)Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Prosecutor's Office Chief of Investigations Stephen Wilson, and Washington Township Police Chief Jeffrey Almer announce the implementation of a joint Driving While Intoxicated checkpoint at a not-to-be-disclosed location in Washington Township for the month of September.

Law enforcement personnel from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and the Washington Township Police Department will conduct the checkpoint.

DWI checkpoints are funded by grants received by the Prosecutor's Office from the State Division of Highway Traffic Safety to establish checkpoints in cooperation with municipal police departments throughout Morris County.(JPG, 13KB)

The Prosecutor's Office has set up sobriety checks in the past two years in Chester, Denville, Jefferson, Mount Olive, Parsippany, Randolph, Roxbury, and previously in Washington Township.
