Freeholders Schedule Public 2019 Budget Information Session

Residents and Officials From All 39 Towns Invited to March 14 Event
The Morris County Board of Freeholders will hold a special 2019 public county budget meeting on Thursday, March 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the County Administration and Records Building in Morristown.
The session is designed to let county residents and mayors and other public officials from all 39 Morris County municipalities have a say in the budget process, state concerns, make recommendations, and ask questions.
Freeholders Heather Darling, Kathy DeFillippo and Deborah Smith, who comprise the budget committee, will be joined by the county's professional staff at the March 14 session.
We want to ensure that mayors, other elected officials, and our county residents have an opportunity to comment on budget issues and to better understand our budget process,'' said Deputy Freeholder Director Darling, who chairs the committee.
The county's proposed $315.3 million 2019 budget was introduced unanimously by the Freeholder Board last week. If approved, the budget would ask county homeowners to pay an average of just $11 more annually, or 0.94 cents each month, in county taxes to fund services and programs provided by Morris County government
The freeholders will consider adoption of their 2019 budget at the Wednesday, March 27 evening meeting in Morristown.

The special budget meeting will be held in the Knox Room on the 5th floor in the Morris County Administration and Records Building, 10 Court Street, Morristown, N.J. 07963. Residents should be aware they must go through a first-floorsecurity screening process.
