Get a Hands-On Taste of Work in Trades with MCVSD Summer Exploration

Spend a week exploring a trade to put yourself on a path to a lucrative career -- without the expense and time of earning a college degree.

Morris County Vocational School District's Summer Exploration Sessions are designed for those ages 16-21 who are interested in understanding of the hands-on skills, knowledge and training needed to work in the electrical, plumbing, welding, or automotive field. If you find the trade that speaks to you, enroll in our Fall 2021 classes to further your training.

Each trade week is in session Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuition for one week is $179 with discounts for multiple weeks:

  • two trade weeks cost $305
  • three trade weeks cost $455
  • all four trade weeks cost $609.
Program dates: 

Summer Electrical Week: July 5 - 8, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Summer Plumbing/ HVAC Week: July 12 -15, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Summer Welding Week: July 19 -22, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Summer Auto Tech Week: July 26 - 29, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Adult Continuing Education at Morris County Vocational School District 


Adults who are both career starters and career changers will find programs taught by industry experts that develop skills necessary for employment in the trades, health care and other industries at The Continuing Education division at Morris County Vocational School District.
