JCP&L Halting Power Restoration Efforts Due to Current Storm

Published on March 07, 2018

JCP&L has announced a Safety Stand Down based on the current weather conditions.

Although they are keeping restoration crews in place, work has stopped as a result of severe weather conditions. The company will continue to monitor weather conditions to determine when work will resume.

JCP&L has pledged to remain focused on restoring customers who have been out of service the longest, and will address any new outages based on its priority system that deals with the largest outages first.

A heavy intensity is expected to continue in Morris County, with the peak of the storm continuing between NOW and 7 p.m.

We are seeing snowfall rates from one-to-three inches per hour in various parts of the county. In some instances, we are experiencing white-out conditions, with the possibility of well over One Foot of snow across the county, and the potential for up to two-feet in some areas.

We continue to be operational at the Morris County Emergency Management's Emergency Operations Center throughout the duration of this storm.

Please be safe. Check on disabled or elderly relatives or neighbors.
