Latest Power/Storm Update from OEM

Published on March 01, 2018

Latest update from the Office of Emergency Management:

We continue to remain in active communication with members of the JCP&L team and we will do so until power for all of our Morris County residents, schools and businesses has been restored.

At the time of this communication, we have 8,735 JCP&L customers without power.

We are currently paying attention to the coastal storm that will be in the area tomorrow evening and into the Tuesday morning commute. The current forecast data suggests that we may experience rain before we see a changeover to all snow. The window at this time is late Monday night into the early Tuesday commute. At this time, the models show a 1-3 range. Accumulations may struggle in some areas due to the marginal temps but higher elevation areas would have a better chance of accumulation. Winds do not appear to be an issue.

There remains considerable uncertainty in the track of the storm system. If the storm tracks closer to the coast, the impacts would be greater. We will continue to monitor.
