The League of Women Voters plans to hold candidate forums in Morris County again this election year, and the organization is inviting candidates to schedule forums for different races ahead of the June 8 primary election.

The forums offer voters an opportunity to listen to candidates respond to questions on issues pertaining to the office they seek, and provides candidates an opportunity to present their positions directly to the voters. The League also is interested in collaborating on a forum with a sponsor, such as a civic association or news media organization.

To arrange a forum with the League of Women Voters within Morris County, please contact the organization at [email protected]

The League is encouraging all candidates to participate and voters to attend the forums as they are scheduled and announced.  The forums will be held virtually and utilize the services of unbiased, professionally trained moderators, according to the League. Forum questions, according to the League, will be developed by its membership and cover salient points and issues raised by local residents

The League also says it will screen out personal attacks and inappropriate questions to maintain a civil and decorous program. People can view the event in real time and access the recording online, after the fact.
