Deadline for Merit-Based Scholarships is Jan. 22
Morris Arts offers two merit-based arts scholarships annually for graduating high school seniors who excel in the arts.
The Elaine Ehlers Arts Scholarship for $5,000, and The Eugenie Coladarci Arts Scholarship for $1,500, were created to recognize artistic excellence, encourage the artists of the future, and to celebrate the value of the arts to the human experience.
To qualify, students must be graduating high school seniors who have exhibited artistic excellence in dance, drama, music, or visual arts and plan to pursue post-secondary studies at an accredited institution or acknowledged arts school or fine arts program. The application deadline is Jan. 22.
Applications are available online at the Morris Arts website and through high school guidance offices. For more information, email Lsiebert@morrisarts.org.
Applications and work samples submitted by students will be evaluated by panelists who are experts in university arts education and/or professionals in each artistic discipline. Selections will be announced at the end of February.
