Morris County Administrator John Bonanni Receives Alex DeCroce Public Leadership Award

Morris County Administrator John Bonanni was honored with the Alex DeCroce Public Leadership Award from the Morris County Chamber of Commerce at its Annual Economic Outlook Luncheon, held Oct. 24 at the Park Savoy Estate in Florham Park.

The award is named for Alex DeCroce, who served as a Morris County Freeholder in the 1980s, and as a state Assemblyman from 1989 to his passing in 2012.

The award is presented annually to the individual who has provided exemplary service to the economy and business community and embodies the character and values of the former New Jersey assemblyman.

A lifelong resident of Morris County and native of Boonton, John Bonanni began his employment with Morris County in January of 1990 as Assistant Director of Operations with the county Department of Human Services. In 1992, he was promoted to Director of Human Services, overseeing the largest agency in county government, and which is charged with providing a wide array of services, all directed at helping residents improve their quality of life.

He was appointed by the Board of Freeholders as County Administrator on Dec. 1, 2004.

Four local business leaders also were honored at the Chamber event:

Casey Carpenter, founder of The Sales Breakthrough Coach, was honored with the Solo Entrepreneur Award;
Rose DeTorres, a partner in DeTorres & DeGeorge Family Law, was honored with the Small Business Award;
Donna Miller, president and founder of C3Workplace, was honored with the Middle Market Business Award;
C. Clifton Morris, president of Tilcom New York Inc., was honored with the Large Business Award;
