Morris County Clerk: Passport Fees to Increase in the Spring

Morris County Clerk Ann Grossi is advising county residents that the U.S. Department of State is raising the in-person Passport Execution Fee from $25 to $35 starting on April 2.

(PNG, 30KB)The fee is mandated by the Department of State and applies to passport applications that are submitted in-person to an authorized acceptance agent, including Post Offices, County Clerk's Offices and other government agencies. Passport applications submitted to the Department of State by mail are not subject to the fee increase.

The April 2nd fee increase provides additional incentive to obtain or update your passport now rather than waiting, said County Clerk Grossi. By completing passport transactions at this time of year, Morris County residents can avoid the last-minute rush of the busy spring travel season, and save money, too.

The Morris County Clerk's Passport Office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours on Tuesday evenings until 8 p.m. Due to required processing times, only those with appointments will be accepted beyond 4 p.m. (or 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays).

Appointments also are available, allowing residents to avoid a wait by scheduling a specific time to meet with an acceptance agent. In addition, applicants can have their passport photograph taken at the County Clerk's Office for a fee of $10.
