Morris County residents are invited to attend a virtual public workshop on Thursday, May 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. to review and comment on the county’s Draft Local Safety Action Plan (LSAP). To register for the workshop, please access the meeting link on Zoom.
The LSAP outlines strategies and actions to improve transportation safety for all road users. The plan, developed in partnership with the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), supports national safety initiatives such as Vision Zero and the Safe Streets and Roads for All programs.
Morris County is entering the final phase of developing the LSAP that is aimed at improving roadway safety and reducing traffic-related deaths and serious injuries on county and municipal roads. The upcoming public workshop will provide an overview of the draft recommendations and offer residents the opportunity to share feedback.
“This plan is a vital step toward safer roads in Morris County. We encourage everyone to participate and help shape solutions that can save lives,” said Morris County Commissioner Deputy Director Stephen H. Shaw, who also serves as secretary of the NJTPA.
The LSAP is funded by the NJTPA, the federally authorized metropolitan planning organization for 13 counties in northern and central New Jersey.
