Morris County Commissioner Director John Krickus joined local officials and trade union representatives this week at the Building Trades Recruiting Event hosted by County College of Morris (CCM) in partnership with North Jersey Building Trades.

“We had ten trade unions represented, providing an opportunity for well-paying careers in vitally needed jobs,” said Director Krickus. “The County Commissioners, Senators Bucco and Pennacchio not only sponsored today’s program where job candidates can find a great future, but we have and continue to invest in County College of Morris, which under President Iacono’s leadership, CCM is successfully training the workforce of the future.”

Designed specifically for job seekers in the building trades, the goal of the event was to connect talented individuals, including roofers, electricians, ironworkers, insulators, sheet metal workers, bricklayers, plumbers and many more, with union representatives and top industry leaders who are actively hiring in northern New Jersey. The exclusive event provided an unparalleled opportunity for job seekers to engage directly with representatives from a diverse range of companies within the building trades.

Attendees had the chance to meet and network with hiring managers, explore various career opportunities, and review their skills and qualifications.

"We are excited to host the Building Trades Recruiting Event and facilitate connections between job seekers and industry leaders," said Dr. Iacono. “CCM wishes to thank state Senator Joe Pennacchio and Board of County Commissioners Director John Krickus for bringing the college and trade unions together in a productive partnership that will be of benefit to all of Morris County. We have tremendous respect for our colleagues in the building trades and are honored to support them.”

The event engaged trade unions, the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce and veterans groups as well as CCM students, and proved to be an excellent platform for job seekers and industry leaders alike. Whether participants were experienced professionals looking to take the next step in their careers or entry-level candidates seeking a foot in the door of the building trades, the recruiting event catered to all skill levels.
