Morris County Library Closing Due to COVID-19

Published on March 16, 2020

In response to the COVID-19 virus and in consultation with the Office of Health Management, a decision has been made to close the Morris County Library for an indefinite period starting today, Monday, March 16, at 9 p.m.(PNG, 6KB)

The closure is designed to help protect the high-risk populations that we serve, as well as minimize the potential exposure/transmission of the virus to all patrons and staff. The closure is temporary, but there is not a defined re-opening date at this time.

For information during this challenging time, from a Morris County perspective, please visit the county's coronavirus webpage.

All Morris County Library materials that are currently checked out by patrons will receive auto-renewals, with no fines charged through April 30. Patrons are asked to hold onto any checked out library materials for now and return them once the library has re-opened. Again, no late fees will be charged.

While the Morris County Library's mission is to remain a resource for our residents, we are closing for health and safety reasons at this time due to an abundance of caution and to be consistent with statewide recommendations for social distancing.

We appreciate our patrons' patience and understanding. If you have further questions, updates will be posted on the library's website.
