Morris County Library: Explore the History of the Jewish Community in Morris County

Have you ever heard of the Jersey Borscht Belt? Learn about these classic Jewish resorts and much more in The Jews of Morris County, a free public program to be offered at the Morris County Library on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.(PNG, 246KB)

Linda Forgosh, executive director and curator of the Jewish Historical Society of New Jersey, will take a look at the Jewish population and culture, from peddlers to professionals, tracing the 100-plus years of vibrant Jewish communities in the region.

The presentation is free and open to the public. No reservations are required.

The Jewish Historical Society hosts public forums on major historical Jewish events, sponsors and publishes papers and books on subjects of historical Jewish interest, maintains an active speakers bureau, and creates and sponsors traveling exhibitions, using as their inspiration the 600 collections in its archives.
