KIDS WELCOME: Fire Trucks, Police Car, Emergency Vehicles will be on Display

(JPG, 951KB)The Morris County Library will host a fun, family-friendly event celebrating Emergency Responders Day on Thursday, June 28, from 10 a.m to 1 p.m.

Children can meet firefighters and park police, explore a classic firetruck, police car and other county emergency vehicles. Families can create firetrucks out of graham crackers and other delicious edible trimmings, and enjoy giveaways and refreshments.

The Morris County Park Police also will offer the popular free Child ID cards, an initiative launched in 2000 that registers more than 1,000 children annually.

"We started this tradition in 2016 and have gotten a great response from families throughout Morris County,'' said Morris County Library Director Susan Calantone. "Not only are we giving children a chance to meet their own local heroes at their own county library, we're giving parents an easy opportunity to keep their little ones safer with the Child ID cards. And who doesn't love a firetruck?
