Tuesday Lunchtime Performances on Morristown Green
Spend your summertime lunchtimes on Morristown Green enjoying free performances of world music and dance with the ninth season of Music Beyond Borders.
This year's series will showcase Caribbean, Balinese, South American, and Gypsy/Neo-Balkan cultures.

Performances will run from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on alternate Tuesdays, June 26, July 10, July 24 and Aug. 7. Morristown United Methodist Church on the Green, 50 Park Place, is the rain site.
The performance series is a collaboration between Morris Arts and the Mayo Performing Arts Center.
June 26: Random Test Reggae
With musicians hailing from throughout the Caribbean, this band's authentic reggae and calypso music has performed at the State Theatre, the Patriot Theatre, First Night Morris, the Stone Pony, and the Jersey Shore. The band channels Bob Marley and the joyous music of this Caribbean land.

July 10: BALAM Dance Theatre
Enjoy the elegant and exotic Balinese dances and costumes from Indonesia's island of Bali with NYC-based BALAM Dance Theatre. This critically acclaimed dance troupe has been featured in performances at Lincoln Center, DUMBO Dance Festival, Jacob's Pillow and multiple First Nights. BALAM's performance will feature its unique rendition of the Ramayana, the legendary Asian/Indonesian epic depicting the battle between good vs. evil.
July 24: Eco Del Sur: Ancient and Contemporary South American Music

Showcasing indigenous and modern instruments, Eco Del Sur, meaning Echoes of the South, shares the vibrant rhythms and memorable melodies of both ancient and contemporary South American music. They highlight Pre-Columbian and Spanish cultures such as the huayňo, sanjuanito, carnaval, chacarera, joropo, zamba, and cueca, as well as a blend of African with Pacific/Atlantic Coasts and the Caribbean, such as the cumbia, porros, guajira, lando, festejo.
Aug. 7: Tavche Gravche: Gypsy/neo-Balkan Trio

Thrill to the fiery and fascinating blend of Balkan-Gypsy-Flamenco-Jazz fusion featuring traditional Balkan and Eastern European music from this award-winning NYC-based ensemble. Merging haunting Macedonian and Mediterranean melodies with dynamic improvisational elements, the trio maintains the explosive dance-able rhythms and energy of Balkan music. With masterful international musicians, the group has performed at The City Winery, Caramoor, on the main stage of NYC's fabled Balkan Golden Festival, Zlatne Uste. The group's first CD won distinction as the best world music album of 2014.
