Morris County Park System Offers Events and Open Space

Visit the calendar to to view upcoming programs such as a Japanese walking meditation called forest bathing, many gardening topics, bears, the Frog Jamboree, Signs of Spring walk, and Birding at Bamboo Brook. Or search the parks by amenities, such as paved trails, dogs on leash, swimming, boating, etc.

Virtual Home School Days: Wondrous Woodpeckers

Play a Jeopardy-type game to learn everything there is to know about these fascinating creatures. Find out what kinds we have here in Morris County, about their unique adaptations and many more fun facts!

Virtual Lunch and Learn: Fashion Through the Ages

Historic program for adults.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, join museum registrar Katie Humphreys as we take a virtual tour through the changing face of women’s fashion over the past two hundred years. Discover why certain choices became fashionable, learn how to identify what decade a dress is from, and get a sneak peek at how our museum professional staff preserves these delicate pieces for the future.

In-Person Home School Days: The Stories of the Trees

Why is a dogwood called a dogwood? How did the oak tree help start the Revolutionary War? Learn stories, legends, and myths about some of the oldest residents of the USA. Dress for the weather. We're going outside!

Virtual Home School Days: Fact or Fiction, Nature Edition

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION: Should I pick up a fallen baby bird? Do you get two worms when a worm is cut in half? Do black bears actually hibernate? In this LIVE, interactive virtual presentation, determine what really is fact or fiction regarding some of the most commonly seen and talked about New Jersey animals.
