PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE ANNOUNCES DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED CHECKPOINT IN MORRIS PLAINS

Morris County authorities will be on the lookout for intoxicated drivers during this holiday season in Morris Plains.

DWI Checkpoint(, 0B)Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Prosecutor's Office Chief of Investigations John Speirs, and Morris Plains Chief of Police Jason Kohn have announced the implementation of a joint Driving While Intoxicated checkpoint at not-to-be-disclosed locations in Morris Plains for the remainder of the month of December.

Law enforcement personnel from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and the Morris Plains Police Department will conduct the checkpoint.

DWI checkpoints result from grants the Morris County Prosecutor's Office has received from the State Division of Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The DWI Enforcement Grants are designed to establish checkpoints in cooperation with municipal police departments throughout Morris County.

The Prosecutor's Office has set up sobriety checks in the past two years in Chester, Denville, Jefferson, Mount Olive, Randolph, Roxbury, and Washington Township. Further checkpoint dates and locations will be announced in the future.
