Morris Prosecutor: Dover Man Sentenced to State Prison for Sexual Assault of a Child

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Acting Chief of Investigations Chris Kimker, and Dover Police Chief Anthony Smith announce that Pedro Izquierdo-Herrera, 46, of Dover, has been sentenced by Superior Court Judge David Ironson to 12 years in New Jersey State Prison.

Morris County Prosecutor's Office seal(, 0B)The defendant pled guilty to Aggravated Sexual Assault, admitting to engaging in sexual intercourse with a child between the age of 13 and 16.

Izquierdo-Herrera will be subject to registration pursuant to Megan's Law and Parole Supervision for Life. He is subject to the No Early Release Act and must serve at least 85 percent of his 12-year sentence before being eligible for parole.

He also was ordered to pay mandatory fines and penalties and is to have no contact with the victim.

Prosecutor Knapp would like to thank the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit and the Dover Police Department, whose efforts contributed to the investigation and resolution of the matter.
