Morris Prosecutor: Investigation into Montville Drowning

Fatality Confirmed in Montville Township

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Morris County Prosecutor's Office Acting Chief of Investigations Christoph Kimker and Montville Police Chief Andrew Caggiano announce an ongoing investigation into a fatal incident that occurred in Montville on Wednesday afternoon.(, 0B)

On June 26, at approximately 3:30 p.m., law enforcement was dispatched to Lake Valhalla Club located at 13 Vista Road in Montville on a report of a possible drowning. While the investigation remains ongoing, the death of a 12-year-old boy has been confirmed. At this time, the identity of this individual will not be released.

The incident is not deemed to be suspicious at this time.

The incident is being investigated by Montville Police, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit, and the Morris County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
