For the sixth consecutive year, Morristown Medical Center has secured its place among the world’s best hospitals, topping the list at No. 1 in New Jersey medical centers in Newsweek's 2024 World's Best Hospitals rankings.

In the latest edition of the annual ranking, Morristown Medical Center stands at #47 among U.S. hospitals, the highest-ranking position for any hospital in New Jersey. The prestigious list includes more than 2,400 hospitals from 30 countries, with over 400 from the United States. The rankings, a collaboration between Newsweek and Statista Inc., highlight Morristown's excellence, placing it alongside renowned institutions such as the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and Johns Hopkins.

Morristown Medical Center has also earned recognition in the categories of Best Hospitals for Infection Prevention and Best Patient Experience in 2024.

The rankings were based on an online survey of over 85,000 medical experts and public data from post-hospitalization patient surveys measuring general satisfaction. The score also considered metrics such as hygiene and patient-to-doctor ratio, along with a Statista survey assessing whether hospitals utilize Patient-Reported Outcome Measures which are standardized questionnaires assessing patient experience and results. Newsweek has been conducting its national and worldwide hospital ranking since 2019.

Here are the rankings for New Jersey hospitals on the U.S. list:

  • 47. Morristown Medical Center, part of Atlantic Health, received an overall score of 70.63 percent. It also earned an infection prevention award and a patient experience award.
