Kevin DeBiasse, a longtime staff member in the Morris County Office of Information Technology, recently completed his sixth National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Memorial Bike Ride. This year’s week-long event, held from May 9 to May 15, spanning from Boston to Virginia, is an annual ride to honor the service and sacrifice of EMS professionals while promoting both physical and mental wellness throughout the emergency medical community.
A dedicated public servant, DeBiasse has been a volunteer firefighter since 1987 and an EMT in Madison since 1992. For the ride, he served in a critical support role, driving a box truck packed with luggage, first aid supplies and bike gear for cyclists participating in the East Coast route. Each morning, he was up at 5 a.m. to ensure the truck was loaded and to attend the daily safety meeting, hitting the road by 7 a.m.
To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, this year's ride included the route George Washington and the Continental Army took during the American Revolution.
