Officially known as County Bridge No. 1401-250, it is a double-barrel, stone-masonry-arch structure that dates to 1900, and is showing signs of deterioration.

The bridge is 37-feet long, has a deck width of 24 feet, and carries an average of 140 vehicles each day.

According to county engineers, the bridge arch has large voids and is bulging, and the northeast wing wall is rotating.''

The contractor for this county funded project is Reivax Contracting Corp. of Newark. The bid price for the project is $427,234.

Repair work is expected to take about three months, during which the bridge will be completely closed. Detours will be set up and signed for motorists.
