Emergency Food Resources
SNAP Benefits Program Updates During the Federal Government Shutdown:
DUE TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN, SNAP BENEFITS WILL BE EITHER DELAYED OR UNPAID BEGINNING IN NOVEMBER.
SNAP benefits that were loaded onto your Families First EBT card before October 31, 2025, will remain available for use after November 1. However, before visiting the grocery store, recipients are encouraged to check their balance at NJFamiliesFirst.com or by calling (800) 997-3333. If benefits are available in your account, use them as usual.
It remains unclear how long benefits will be impacted.
As a result, several charitable food providers, in partnership with the Morris County Department of Human Services are providing temporary, emergency measures to help individuals and families impacted by the pause on benefits.
WIC: SNAP for Women Infants and Children, commonly known as WIC, remains open at this time. Participants should keep their WIC appointments and continue using their eWIC card at any WIC store.
Work First New Jersey (WFNJ) benefits should be available on time.
