Inmate Programs
The Morris County Correctional Facility offers inmates a range of programs and services, many of which are in place to assist inmates in returning back to the community with the education and tools they need to improve their lives.
Serving a jail sentence or being held awaiting trial need not be wasted time for the inmate who chooses to make that time productive. Our jail programs also decrease incidents of violence and support the effective operation of the jail by constructively engaging otherwise idle inmates. These opportunities for engagement also serve as an incentive because inmate attendance is only approved for those who are currently not in disciplinary detention.
Programs offered include educational, vocational, substance abuse, and self-betterment classes. These programs provide inmates with meaningful opportunities for positive behavioral change, skill development and motivation to become self-sufficient, productive members of society upon release.
Our programs and services include…
- new admission orientation
- social services
- medical and dental services
- GED classes
- pre-GED classes
- English as a Second Language classes (ESL)

Hope Wing
The Hope Wing is a drug/alcohol addiction recovery unit for incarcerated inmates. It’s designed to help inmates address their substance use issues through daily programs:
- relapse prevention
- anger management
- education
- spirituality
- relationship development
- peer to peer counseling
Participating inmates must voluntarily enter into the Hope Wing Unit and must agree to comply with a regimented weekly schedule determined by certified alcohol and drug counselors on staff at the jail.
The Sheriff’s office works closely with community outreach programs to assist inmates on their post-incarceration needs: housing, employment, education, and aftercare support services.
The Hope Wing was opened on June 5, 2017, in partnership with the Morris County Department of Human Services and CARES (Center for Addiction Recovery Education & Success).
