2025 Mitigation Plan Update

About

Morris County is pleased to announce the completion of the 2025 Morris County All Municipalities Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). The HMP is updated every five years, with the goal to save lives and property through the reduction of hazard vulnerability. Ultimately, all of our Morris County Municipalities benefit from being eligible for Federal funding. Past efforts from an approved Hazard Mitigation Plan have resulted in Morris County and it’s municipalities being awarded more than $36 million since 2011. Throughout this planning project, the county, local leaders and the participating communities worked in tandem to identify risks, assess capabilities, and formulate a strategy to reduce disaster vulnerability in our communities.
