BUDD LAKE MAN FOUND GUILTY OF RESISTING ARREST

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp announces that a Morris County Jury found Jaime H. Fernandez (age 32) of the Budd Lake section of Mt. Olive Township, New Jersey guilty of one count of third degree Resisting Arrest 2C:29-2A(3)(A). The jury returned its verdict after 1 day of deliberation. The Honorable Salem V. Ahto, J.S.C presided over the two (2) day trial.

Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Bollenbach, assigned to the General Investigations Unit of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, represented the State during the trial.

This matter is scheduled for sentencing before the Honorable Salem V. Ahto, J.S.C. on April 30, 2015.

This prosecution stemmed from the arrest of Mr. Fernandez in January 2014 by two officers of the Mt. Olive Township Police Department. Mr. Fernandez became combative with the officers when they tried to serve him with court documents.
