The Morris County Sheriff’s Office Patrol provides uniformed vehicular patrol throughout Morris County, primarily focused on the Morris County Park System.
Sheriff’s Officers are trained in a variety of specialties that assist to augment daily patrols throughout the area of responsibility. Equipped with immediate access to law enforcement enablers such as K9 and Bomb Squad, Sheriff’s Officers are prepared to perform law enforcement operations such as property checks, motor vehicle enforcement, and criminal investigation.
Patrol vehicles are equipped with various pieces of technology that help to enhance law enforcement efficiency and provide Sheriff’s Officers with the tools necessary to effectively perform their daily duties and responsibilities.

The Patrol provides uniformed law enforcement services throughout Morris County, with primary responsibility over the Morris County Park System. Patrol Officers respond to calls for service, conduct proactive patrols, enforce motor vehicle laws, and assist municipal agencies when requested.
The Morris County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit supports patrol operations and specialized assignments throughout the county. K9 teams are trained in narcotics detection, tracking, and apprehension, and are deployed to assist both county and municipal law enforcement agencies.
The Morris County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad is a regional resource responsible for the identification, render-safe, and disposal of explosive devices. The unit responds to suspicious packages, improvised explosive devices, and provides support at major public events and critical infrastructure.
The Emergency Services Unit (ESU) provides specialized rescue and tactical support capabilities to the Sheriff's Office and municipal agencies throughout Morris County. ESU officers are trained in technical rescue, hazardous materials response, and high-risk warrant service operations.
The Sheriff's Emergency Response Team (SERT) is a full-time tactical unit that handles high-risk law enforcement operations including barricaded subjects, hostage situations, and high-risk warrant service. SERT works closely with county and municipal agencies to ensure the safety of residents and officers.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) provides enhanced patrol and investigative support throughout Morris County. SOG officers conduct targeted enforcement operations, assist with major crime investigations, and respond to areas experiencing increased criminal activity.
The Hercules/FAST Team is a specialized unit focused on critical infrastructure protection and enhanced patrol operations at high-priority locations throughout Morris County. The team coordinates with federal, state, and local partners to address emerging threats and maintain public safety.
The Office of Temporary Assistance coordinates support services for individuals and families in need throughout Morris County. This unit works alongside community partners and social service agencies to connect residents with available resources and assistance programs.
The Marine Police Unit patrols the waterways of Morris County, including lakes, reservoirs, and rivers. Officers enforce boating safety laws, respond to water emergencies, and conduct search and rescue operations. The unit works closely with the New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau and local agencies.
The Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Unit operates state-of-the-art drone technology in support of law enforcement, search and rescue, and emergency management operations throughout Morris County. UAS operators are FAA-certified and deploy in coordination with ground units to provide aerial reconnaissance and situational awareness.
The Bike Patrol Unit provides community-oriented patrol services throughout the Morris County Park System and other designated areas. Officers on bikes offer increased accessibility and visibility, allowing for closer interaction with the public and more effective patrol in areas not easily accessible by vehicle.
The ATV Unit conducts off-road patrol operations throughout the Morris County Park System and other designated areas. Officers utilize all-terrain vehicles to access remote locations, respond to incidents in rugged terrain, and enforce park regulations.
The Motor Unit conducts traffic enforcement and escort operations throughout Morris County. Motorcycle officers enforce motor vehicle laws, investigate traffic crashes, and provide escort services for dignitary protection and funeral processions.
