Trail Construction Grant Application

The 2023 Trail Construction Grant Program is currently open to receive applications for funding trail projects under the Morris County Preservation Trust Fund.  All municipalities in Morris County are qualified and encouraged to apply for funding.

Please note the Trail Construction Grant funds two separate types of projects, including either Design & Permitting or Construction projects.  There are separate applications for each.  Be sure to download the correct type of application for your grant submission.

Specific changes to the application process for this year (2023) include application format, type of information being requested, and the addition of application instructions and checklist.

Each type of application includes three components.  The first is the application form, which is completed as a fillable form along with the information requested integrated.  A complete applicant includes one comprehensive document that is submitted as a single electronic document and hard copy.

The second component of the application are instructions that provide specific directions as to what is being requested and what should be provided in each section of the application.  Do not submit the instruction with your application.

The third component of the application is a checklist that outlines all sections of the application and can be used as a way to verify all the required information and materials have been provided.  This is for your purposes only.  Do not submit the checklist with your application.

We encourage all applicants to attend the Program Workshop on Tuesday, May 23 to learn more about these changes and the 2023 Trail Grant application process.
