One Lane to Remain Open, Detours in Place for Opposing Traffic

Milling and resurfacing of Sussex Turnpike between West Hanover Avenue and Dover Chester Road in Randolph Township began today, Oct. 1.

The project is expected to take approximately six days, with crews working from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, weather permitting.

During the first three days, crews will work westbound from West Hanover Avenue toward Dover Chester Road. One lane will remain open for westbound traffic, while eastbound traffic will follow a posted detour that shifts daily as work progresses.

For the final three days, crews will reverse direction and work eastbound toward West Hanover Avenue. One lane will remain open for eastbound traffic, while westbound traffic will follow a posted detour that shifts daily as work progresses.

Motorists should expect delays, follow all posted detours and allow extra travel time. All work is weather permitting, and the schedule may change as needed.
