NYS&W Bicycle and Pedestrian Path

nysw-465x1024.png The NYS&W Bicycle and Pedestrian Path will be a 4.8-mile shared-use path starting at River Drive in Pequannock and ending at the Mountain View Train Station in Wayne.

The path will be constructed on top of the inactive railroad bed of the New York, Susquehanna, and Western (NYS&W) Railway. The paved path will be separated from automobile traffic; although, the path will cross streets along the corridor.

The path will serve as a transportation and recreational facility that will connect residents, commuters, and visitors with area parks, schools, libraries, businesses, and transit.

The Final Design of the NYS&W Bicycle and Pedestrian Path Project will be presented by virtual public meeting as the project advances to its construction phase. Members of the community will have the opportunity to view details of the design and participate in a brief Q&A session following the presentation.

Virtual Public Meeting – July 29

On July 29, we held a virtual public meeting, where staff from Morris County and the path design consultant, NV5, presented the upcoming trail between River Road in Pequannock Township and the Mountain View Train Station in Wayne Township.

All attendees had the opportunity to see current design plans, renderings of the proposed project, and hear about project specifics such as anticipated construction schedule.
