The 30-day public comment period is underway for Connecting Communities, the NJTPA’s draft Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) update. The comment period ends on August 5. There will be a virtual open house public meeting on July 17 from 4 to 7 pm. The public is also invited to provide feedback on the State's FY 2026-2035 Transportation Improvement Program. Beginning Monday, June 23, southbound traffic on Flanders-Netcong Road (County Route 613) between U.S. Route 206 and Flanders-Drakestown Road will be temporarily detoured for Phase 1 of an erosion control project. Morris County is developing Local Safety Action Plan (LSAP) which will identify and prioritize transportation safety improvements to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes on county and municipal roadways. The Morris County Board of County Commissioners and the Morris County Park Commission are inviting the public and media to join in the official ribbon-cutting to celebrate the grand opening of the Pompton Valley Rail Trail on Thursday, May 29, at 3 p.m. The former New York, Susquehanna & Western Railroad’s Greenwood Lake Branch has been converted into a 5.1-mile paved trail traveling through Pequannock in Morris County to Wayne in Passaic County.
