On August 24, 2023, on the 209th anniversary of the burning of Washington by the British in 1814, the Office of Planning and Preservation released its list of the War of 1812 veterans.

In a 1993 restoration of the White House, burn marks were discovered from the 1814 attack.

The War of 1812 veterans begin to link Morris County families and military service. War of 1812 veteran Enos Davenport had a father, Cornelius, who served in the Revolution.
